Owl + Kookaburra
Owl + Kookaburra

Water Color - Acrylic - Paper Part of a series submitted to The Parlour Studios for international residency program. Sharing a similar startling, nervous experience being faced to face with each (e.i. fear of eyes getting gouged out).

Koala + Bear
Koala + Bear

Water Color - Acrylic - Paper Part of a series submitted to The Parlour Studios for international residency program. A koala is not a bear, but coming from a place where the differentiation is not integral to our culture, the term still slips. Koala bear.

Echidna + Porcupine
Echidna + Porcupine

Water Color - Acrylic - Paper Part of a series submitted to The Parlour Studios for international residency program. Both are prickly and cute. One enjoys trees, one enjoys burrows. One lays eggs and has five heads to its member, and one enjoys behaving like most other mammals.

Deer + Roo
Deer + Roo

Water Color - Acrylic - Paper Part of a series submitted to The Parlour Studios for international residency program. A first encounter with a wild kangaroo greatly resembles most first encounters with a deer. Alone, grazing peacefully in someones yard, big ears, narrow face. Majestic to you, locals find it dull and often enjoy eating them.

Platypus + Beaver
Platypus + Beaver

Water Color - Acrylic - Paper Part of a series submitted to The Parlour Studios for international residency program. Both rarely spotted, fun-loving, energetic, water loving swimmers. One has a venomous spur on its hind feet and lays eggs, and the other enjoys slapping mug and otherwise enjoying a normal mammalian existence.
